Earthman Bob is the artistic avatar of Robert James Fitzgerald, an artist and designer from Dublin Ireland with a passion for creating new culture narratives about humanities future.
The Earthman character is a poet-astronaut Robert James uses to tell the Daisie chain story. A speculative narrative designed to challenge and inspire people to consider what researcher Joshua white describes as "cognitive alternatives" for our species' future beyond the climate crisis.
The EB project exists in three stages;
The first stage is a series of paintings which depict the opening sequence onto Earthman Bob's world. (Here available to purchase as prints)
The second stage of the project is a spoken word performance, performed by Bob, which describes this alternate world through poetry, music and costume.
The third and final stage of the EB project is an immersive environment where people can interact with this speculative narrative and incubate new, more hopeful visions of the planet's future.
